1.Can I leave the solar panels connected when driving my car so its ready when I park it?
Yes, you can leave the panel connected when driving the car, but the panels should be mounted parallel to the car roof, without tilt mounting brackets, or dangers may occur. The power output could be affected by local peak sun availability.
2.Is the solar panels waterproof and durbale?
Yes, HQST 50 Watt solar panels are waterproof and dustproof due to their IP67-rated connector, IP65-rated junction box, and integrated panel construction. HQST solar panels withstand extreme outdoor weather for over 25 years, with 80% of the original cell efficiency remaining.
3.Can this solar panel be connected with a 12V battery or 48V battery?
Yes, a 12V battery will surely work with this HQST 50W solar panel. Yet solar panels can't be connected with the battery directly. To build a complete solar system, you need to connect the solar panel, charge controller, battery, and inverter in sequence. For a 48V battery, you need to connect at least 3 HQST 50W poly solar panels in series, then connect one charge controller that's compatible with the 48V solar system. The controller's output current should not exceed the battery's maximum charge current, and the whole solar system works normally
4. How can I connect these solar panels if I bought two or four or six solar panels?
You can connect them in series or parallel. To wire the solar panels in series or parallel depends on your needs and application.
In series connection, connect the positive terminal on the first panel to the negative terminal on the next, and so on; their output voltages add together, and the output current remains the same. Series connection is optimal in unshaded conditions. If shade covers a single panel of the array, it will reduce the system’s power output.
In parallel connection, connect all of the positive terminals on each panel, then do the same for the negative terminals; their output currents add together, while output voltages stay the same. Parallel connection is the best option for mixed-light conditions or when you want a low voltage system using a lower-cost PWM controller. If shade covers one or two of the panels, the remaining panels in the array will continue working as expected.
5. Can I use the panel to power the outdoor pool filter or security camera?
Yes, and you need a battery for power storage; then connect your solar panel, charge controller, and the battery to power your pool filter. Calculate how much power you need per day, then buy compatible components to build your own solar system, or you can turn to HQST service team for a convenient solution.
